On the eve of the Linz Marathon, the marathon service invites runners, fans, organizers and interested parties to pause, draw strength and be blessed.
Running is more than just movement - it means rhythm, breathing, trust. Just as a marathon has ups and downs, so does life. What sustains us along the way? How do we draw new strength? This year's Bible passage from Isaiah 43:1-7 gives us courage:
"Fear not, for I have called you by name; you are mine! When you walk through the water, I am with you.
A service for all those on the move
Just as many people set out in the Bible - Abraham, Moses, the disciples - runners also set out on their journey. Persevering, reaching limits, drawing new strength - all this connects running and life.
Runners' blessing & agape
The service is prepared by a dedicated team, including Michael Münzner, a priest and passionate marathon runner himself. The focus is on the runners' blessing, which is intended to give strength for the marathon and for life's journey. Afterwards, there will be an agape, with the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and get refreshments
Invited are everyone who is on the road.
A warm invitation!
