Refund

Information about the entry fee refund.

Dear runner!

Most of you have prepared well and perhaps even particularly ambitiously for a competition as part of the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon and are already very much looking forward to this unique running experience with a total of 20,000 active participants. In the months leading up to the country's biggest running event, the organization team also put a lot of work and commitment into preparing as perfectly as possible. Just like you, the cancellation at the beginning of March hit us hard. You train hard, prepare meticulously - and then a dangerous virus changes the course of events so radically that all our habits are turned upside down.

That is our offer.

As bitter as the cancellation was, very relieved we can now announce that our effort to be a "service marathon", where the wishes of the participants are very important, is no empty promise. As organizers, the City of Linz, LIVA and OÖNachrichten have managed, thanks to the support of their sponsors, to make it possible to refund the entry fees that have already been paid in. Above all, our name partner Oberbank with General Director Franz Gasselsberger - himself a regular in the starting field - was a committed pacesetter here, as were our long-term partners LINZ AG, Borealis, Hyundai and numerous other sponsors who are now supporting us as companions in a difficult time.

This is what you can do for us.

Affected runners will be informed about the reversal of their entry fees by our timekeeper mika:timing via e-mail next week. However, there will also be the possibility to waive half or the entire entry fee. After all, a large part of the organizational costs have already been incurred, which means that we will have to carry a minus in our budget next year. This will not bring us down, but it does not make a dynamic new start any easier. That's why we would be happy if this backpack would be a little lighter thanks to your generosity.

Thank you for your solidarity.

No matter what you decide, we are looking forward to seeing you at the start line of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon on April 11, 2021. Well prepared and with great joy of movement. Stay healthy, keep moving! For the organizer
