1.Eligibility requirements

1.1.Organizer of the Linz Donau Marathon is Linzer Veranstaltungsgesellschaft m.b.H., Untere Donaulände7, A-4010 Linz (phone: +43(0)732/603412, DVR-Nr. 0047261, E-Mail: linzmarathon@ liva.linz. at).

1.2.These eligibility requirements are valid for all participants, who are taking part at one of the Linz Marathon ́scompetitions. The organizer reserves itself to change and update the requirements anytime.

1.3.Everyone has the right to participate at the Linz Donau Marathon, if they have reached the age for the respective course, which is mentioned in the tender. Condition for participation is a right registration. Registration procedure is described on the website Participants under the age of 18 need a declaration of liability, signed by their legal guardian.

1.4.The participation at the event is a personal right and cannot be transferred to a third party. The bib can ́t be transferred neither.

1.5.At registration changes, like downgrading to another competition (change of competition), for example marathon to half marathon, the paid registration fee won ́t be refunded, not even proportionally. When Upgrading, for example, half marathon to marathon, a new payment for the new competition is not necessary, but the registration fee difference to the more expensive competition plus additional bank expenses, which are valid at the time of competition change, need tob e paid by the participant. Registration changes are only possible within the offered event and cannot be transferred to the upcoming year and event. The valid registration fees of each competition are listed on

1.6.The organizer reserves the right to set a participation limit and to decline registrations which are over the limit.



2.1.The participation occurs at one’s own risk. When receiving the starting documentsthe participants explain mandatory that there are no doubts about their health condition when taking part at the competition. The participants are responsible for themselves to get their health status checked beforehand. The organizer doesn ́t take liability for participant ́s health risks.

2.2.The liability of the organizer, his representatives and helpers are excluded for personal and property damage and financial losses of all kind, insofar as legally allowed. The organizer is not liable for induced property and financial damage of slight negligence.

2.3.The organizer cannot be held liable for participant ́s stored objects during the event through organizer assigned third parties. Anorganizer ́s possible liability because of grossly fault in selection remains.

2.4.The organizer has the right, in case of force majeure, for participant ́s security reasons, as well as other important reasons, to change the event or to cancel it. In this case claim of refunding the entry fee or compensation is not possible.

2.5.As a case of force majeure apply especially to all measurements regarding the COVID-19-pandemic. The organizer is entitled -in particular in 2021 and following years –to change the event process or parts of the event, to relocate or shortenthe course, to completely or temporarily cancelthe competitions, to partially limit, close or cancel the event in its entirety in specially justified exceptional situations. A justified exceptional situation that justifies such a measure exists if there are sufficient factual indications that the planned implementation or continuation of the event could lead to a concrete danger to participants, visitorsand/or the community, if an official event ban hasbeen issued for the competition, or if there are official ordered restrictions, which make the implementation of the event in an economic way senseless. The participantsshall accept and comply with any official conditions or requirements imposed on the organizer. The participants will be notified in advance of such conditions and/or changes by email and/or on the website of the respective competition. The participantsarerequested to always stay up to date accordingly, and at least on the day of the event.

2.6.In case of legal cancellation of the Linz Donau Marathon the organizers reserve themselves, to implement all competitions of the Linz Donau Marathon as Virtual Run. The registered participants will be transferredto the Virtual Run, and they will get the bib including the starter package by mail, except the registered participant objects the participation at the virtual run in a written format within three days after publishing the legal cancellation of the live eventon our homepage.If the Linz Donau Marathon takes place as Virtual Run the participants can ́t claim for a refund of their registration fee.Arefund of the registration fee is only possible at a full cancellation of the event, if the cancellation happened without an important reason (see 2.4. and 2.5.). If the loss is to be represented by the organizer, only a proportional refund of the participant ́s paid entry fee, off the amount remaining after deduction of the organizer ́s already transacted expenses regarding the participant, is possible. The participants have the right of proof that the organizer ́s already transacted expenses were lower. The refund after cancelling the event,causedby the COVID-19 pandemic, will be implemented by the at that moment valid official regulations.

2.7.After the regular registration a resignation is not possible in case of prevention, non-participation, or any other reason at the event. It exists no claim for refunding the registration fee.



3.1.The participation with the use of sport equipment like racing wheelchairs (except for the HandbikeHalf Marathon) and skates (except for the Inline Skating Half Marathon) or Nordic Walking sticks and Smovey rings is forbidden.Accompanying runners by people who aren ́t registered forthe competition (especially on bicycles, skates or with perambulators or other sport devices) is forbidden and leads to the participant ́s disqualification!

3.2.Furthermore, participation without a starting number or without the chip, necessary for the time measurement, leads to disqualification.

3.3.The organizer has the right to decline registrations, for whatever reason, or to disqualify participants from the start. A disqualification happens especially when the participant ́s bib will be handed to a third party, or will be changed in any way or the advertising label is unrecognizable or can ́t be seen. Further reasons for disqualification are wrong data at the participant ́s registration, if there is a ban from the responsible sport federation, if there is a suspicion of taking non legal substances, or if the participant endangers with their behavior the event or other participants. Disqualified participants are not allowed to start for the following 2 years.

3.4.In case of disqualification for any reason mentioned above a claim of refund of the entry fee is not possible.


4.Data collection and picture rights

4.1.The participant ́s personal data named at the registration are stored and handled, by the Linz Donau Marathon organized by the Linzer Veranstaltungsgesellschaft m.b.H, for the purpose of the event ́s execution, including medical care of participants during and in connection with the event, as well as for media coverage and time measurement.

4.2.You have the right to request from the controller -which is theLinzer Veranstaltungsgesellschaft m.b.H. -access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability. Moreover you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, which is the Austrian Datenschutzbehörde (

4.3.The participant is informed that the pictures, videos and interviews taken at the event get published and used by all medias and all data mediums without claim for compensation. The selection of the published pictures makes the organizer carefully, to avoid a negative representation of the participant.

4.5.The participants agree to mailingabout event relevant informationvia e-mail and/or mailthrough the organizer.


5.Time measurement

5.1.The time measurement for the event will be carried out by a third party, by now mika:timingGmbH.

5.2.The participant obligates to wear the necessary time measurement chip during the race on the shoe or a maximum of 30cm above the ground. A time measurement only can happen with the right use of the chip, as well as the right compliance of the course, set by the organizer. If interims are missing or interims don ́t seem plausible, the organizer has the right to disqualify the participant.



6.1.The event takes place under every weather condition. The organizer reserves himself, to cancel the event before the beginning, or during the event, if the participants could get in danger caused by the weather.

6.2.Literal mistakes reserved.

6.3.For all caused disputes during the registration or participation only Austrian right is applicable. Place of jurisdiction is Linz / Austria.
