Marathon service

"It runs well with God!" is the motto of the marathon service on the eve before the Linz Marathon.

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, a special service will be held at the Ursulinenkirche on the occasion of the Linz Marathon, starting at 18:00. All runners, fans, organizers and interested parties are invited to celebrate together, to bring their thoughts before God in prayers and songs and to be blessed. As a spiritual lab station, the celebration offers all athletes the opportunity to fill their energy stores for body, soul and spirit - so to speak, the final touch for the holistic preparation for the upcoming race. Running is often perceived as a metaphor for life and one's own path in life. For many runners it is helpful to clear their heads, to think about and reflect on their own lives. Michael Münzner, who has been a marathon runner himself for years, will lead the celebration.

The marathon service is a cooperation project of City Pastoral, the Catholic Youth of Upper Austria and part of the project "Denk Dich Neu" - an initiative of the Catholic Church in Austria to start a new conversation with young people.
