Start of the LIVA Lauftreff series with ÖLV star Peter Herzog

The newly crowned Austrian record holder in the marathon distance and domestic hope for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo is whetting the appetite for the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon.

A very special Meet & Greet presented by Hyundai Austria is at the start of preparations for the next Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, which will take place on October 24, 2021 with a one-time shift to the fall season.

Peter Herzog, 32-year-old professional runner and current Austrian long-distance record holder, will do the honors for local running fans and personally start the popular LIVA Lauftreff series in Linz.

Right now "keep moving" is the central maxim of all running enthusiasts and also the current motto of the organizers of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon. And so the Linz event company LIVA will of course continue its traditional, popular series of running events in the coming winter of 2020/2021. A stroke of luck in the form of the new Linz Marathon mobility partner Hyundai Austria is now providing professional "push motivation" in the form of Peter Herzog from Salzburg, who only at the beginning of October at the London Marathon undercut Lemawork Ketema's previous best by 38 seconds and set a new Austrian record in the marathon with 2:10:06.

So far, highlights of the elite athlete at the Army Performance Sports Center Hochfilzen were the qualification and participation in the European Championships in Berlin 2018 with the win of the bronze medal in the marathon team (2:15:29), another impressive increase of the personal best in 2019 in Berlin to 2:10:57 and the qualification for the Olympic Games 2021 in Tokyo. The father of a one-year-old daughter had switched from biathlon to running late in life at the age of 29 with a time of 2:30 in Vienna 2016. What a curve of success!

To kick off the upcoming Linz running series, LIVA raffled off a total of 10 places for a Meet & Greet presented by Hyundai Austria with Peter Herzog in recent weeks. On October 23, 2020, the lucky winners will exclusively receive valuable tips as well as the opportunity for a joint run with the ÖLV star. We congratulate very warmly!

Regular LIVA running meetings as of November 7

Under significant consideration of the current situation and for maximum safety of the participants, the LIVA Lauftreffs, which will take place regularly every 14 days on Saturdays from November 7, 2020, will take place this year in smaller, individual groups of 10 people each, in contrast to previous years. To make the event even more attractive, the running routes will change from date to date for the first time so that participants can explore and get to know the most beautiful places in the city of Linz in parallel with their exercise. What remains unchanged, however, is the joy of running, mutual motivation and goal-oriented preparation for the big running event, the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon.
