The symphony of running: 22nd Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon

With fresh, attractive competitions in the programme, exciting new partnerships and services, organized according to the strict criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Events and in honour of Upper Austria's world-class composer, Anton Bruckner, the 22nd Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon on 6 and 7 April 2024 invites you to a "symphony of running".

In the slipstream of last year's triple course record for the women and the favorable training conditions outdoors in recent weeks, the motivation curve for many runners has really taken off - entries for all competitions of the 22nd Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon are currently arriving at the LIVA Marathon Service Center in large numbers. The second entry deadline was on February 1, the third and final entry deadline is on March 15. There will also be a late entry option again in 2024. As of February 7, a good nine weeks before the starting flag is waved, a total of just over 8,000 entries have already been received, an enormous increase of 40% compared to the same time last year!

More than an "eighth marathon": 5,000 meters!

Until now, the LINZ AG quarter marathon, which is around ten kilometers long, was the short program in Linz. In order to improve the "run-fun balance", participation in the marathon Sunday is possible for the first time this year with the Generali 5K over exactly 5,000 meters. The Linz Marathon is thus developing more and more into a multi-distance event and with the newly created discipline, together with the marathon and half marathon distance, now has three AIMS-measured and certified courses registered with World Athletics.

ÖGK Junior Marathon 2024 on the new railroad bridge

When the children officially open the Linz Danube Marathon on the day before the big marathon, they will also be starting on a bridge for the first time in 2024, namely the New Railway Bridge!

1st Special Olympics Run Linz powered by Hofmann Personal

The Linz Danube Marathon will also be all about inclusion in 2024. For the first time, there will be a separate competition for people with disabilities as part of the ÖGK Junior Marathon powered by ORF Radio OÖ. The "1st Special Olympics Run Linz powered by Hofmann Personal" aims to help participants discover new skills through the power of sport and perhaps experience previously unimagined success.

Preview Elite & Austrian National Championships

With its fast course (current best time 2:06:13, Fikre Bekele/ETH, 2022), the Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon has also provided the ideal setting for the Austrian National Championships in the half marathon and marathon for many years. As a result, Linz welcomes some of the fastest marathon runners in Austria and the world every year, and will do so again in 2024.
