Linz AG guarantees smooth running of the 20th edition of the marathon
When the 20th edition of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon takes place on October 23, several partners will be actively helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and not just behind the scenes. One of the most valuable is Linz AG, which is already in the starting blocks for Upper Austria's biggest running event.
During the marathon, the employees of the regionally based company are in top form in several respects: On the one hand, with their wide-ranging expertise, they will ensure the supply of energy and water, waste disposal and the maintenance of traffic. On the other hand, some 200 people from the Linz AG team will be lacing up their running shoes themselves at the anniversary edition of the marathon classic. "Linz AG is proud to be a reliable partner of Upper Austria's biggest running event again this year," says General Director Erich Haider. In view of the intensive preparations, he is certain that the 20th edition will be a complete success.
The Linz AG does not leave it at the active support, but is also this year again name sponsor of the popular quarter marathon.

It fits in well with the corporate philosophy that the Linz Marathon has set itself an ambitious goal: By 2024, the event is to receive green certification from the federal government. The road to this goal is a long one, as the event has to fulfill a catalog of requirements comprising more than 60 points. These range, for example, from the use of environmentally friendly paper types to cooperation with regional partners. The latter is exemplary in the case of Linz AG. In order to promote sustainability as visibly as possible, one square meter of flowering area is planted for each starter.
