20th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon on 23.10.2022

Great anniversary for the festival of the joy of movement.

Many success stories have been written at the Linz Marathon in 20 years. Records have made the headlines, and personal moments of glory will remain unforgotten.

Since 2002, the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon has been a festival of pure joy of movement. Once a year, it mobilizes not only thousands of active runners, but also the entire country. Step by step, this running festival has developed into a landmark of Linz, the capital of Upper Austria.

On October 23, 2022, it will celebrate its round anniversary. Celebrate with us!

Together with many beaming faces, the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon passed through the long-awaited, sun-drenched finish line a good five weeks ago on Linz's autumnal main square. After last year's cancellation due to a pandemic, the first staging of Upper Austria's largest running event in the cooler half of the year not only got countless amateur running enthusiasts moving again, but also brought a new course record for the women - Kenyan marathon debutant Brenda Jerotich Kiprono broke Lisa-Christina Stublic's 10-year-old best mark with a time of 2:30:27 - while also achieving a top result that attracted international attention.

The ongoing global health situation continues to pose many hurdles to the planning of major events. The organizers of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon have therefore decided, in consultation with their sponsors and partners, to hold the event again in the autumn season for 2022. The events of the 20th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon will be held on the weekend of October 21-23, 2022.

Registration for the 20th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon will start on December 15, 2021; in advance, an updated catalog answering the most important questions will be made available on the marathon homepage www.linzmarathon.at.
