Linz Marathon officially approved!

Covid-19 measures for the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon.

For participants in the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, there are the following important measures to note around the marathon weekend of October 22-24, 2021:

Safe to the finish line - protective measures for Covid-19 prevention.

The organizers are endeavored to be able to offer also 2021 to all runners, the public as well as the coworkers under observance of the defaults of the Austrian health politics the used high-level, regular exception running sport experience. To ensure maximum safety and carefree participation in the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, extensive protective measures specially designed for Covid-19 prevention will be implemented in the areas of start number distribution and marathon expo, junior marathon, clothes bag drop-off, start area freeway bridge, aid stations, route and finish line, among others.

In order to avoid congestion and stress, early arrival is generally requested.

All runners and staff must provide a valid 3G proof (negative antigen or PCR tested, recovered or vaccinated) (Persons to be tested must show a negative test at the handing out of starting documents, which is valid until the start time on Sunday. In the sense of contact tracing, basic personal data (name, phone, e-mail) will also be collected. Employees who work several days must also take a rapid antigen test every day. In particularly sensitive areas, the wearing of an FFP2 mask is required. The public along the line is in the public space and has to take care independently, the wearing of a FFP2 mask is recommended.

Start number pick-up and Marathon Expo October 22nd + 23rd in the TipsArena Linz
All runners and accompanying persons who pick up their race number at the TipsArena Linz must show a valid 3G proof and an official photo ID (copies or digital proofs are allowed) and register by scanning a QR code. The validity period of each proof depends on the requirements of the federal government or local authorities. The proof must be valid until at least Sunday at the start time.

When bib numbers are collected for third parties, so a valid 3G proof and an official photo ID must be shown for each person to whom the start number is taken. All employees and exhibitors must also show a valid 3G proof and an official photo ID every day and register by scanning a QR code. Employees are also advised to wear FFP2 mouth-nose protection during the event. Persons working in the TipsArena for several days must also take a rapid antigen test every day.

ÖGK Junior Marathon powered by ORF Radio OÖ at Sportpark Lissfeld on October 23, 2021

All runners and accompanying persons entering the Lissfeld Sports Park area must show valid 3G proof and an official photo ID and register by scanning a QR code. Children from 6 to 12 years old must also show a valid proof or Ninja Pass and an official photo ID and register. Children under the age of 6 do not need 3G proof, but it is recommended to test the child with an antigen test or PCR test on the day of the competition. All staff members must also show valid 3G proof and an official photo ID and register. Employees are also advised to wear an FFP2 mask during the event. All persons checked at the Sportpark Lissfeld will receive a control wristband. Without this wristband, entry to the competition area is not permitted.

19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon October 24 Clothes bag drop-off at the Brucknerhaus

Also this year all participants have the possibility to hand in a clothes bag at the Brucknerhaus. When entering the Brucknerhaus, a valid 3G proof has to be carried and a FFP2 mask to be worn. All employees in the Brucknerhaus must also show a valid 3G ID and an official photo ID and register by scanning a QR code. Employees are also recommended to wear an FFP2 mask during the event.

Start area Voest freeway bridge

Only runners with start numbers are allowed to enter the start area. Visitors can watch the start outside the event area at their own risk and responsibility. All employees at the individual aid stations must show a valid 3G certificate and an official photo ID and will be registered by name by the respective aid station manager and entered into a separate form including contact details. Staff will wear FFP2 masks during the event when working at the refreshment point. Water/Cola will only be distributed in sealed 0.5l PET bottles. Bananas will be given out whole. Since there is no possibility to hand out isotonic drinks in bottles, but these drinks are absolutely necessary for the athletic performance and the energy supply of the athletes, the isotonic drinks will be served in cups. At the finish line, the finishers' medals will not be hung around the athletes' necks, but only given in their hands.

Visitors in the tempo zones and on the main square will be repeatedly advised by the moderators not to stay in large groups and to wear mouth/nose protection if possible. However, this is done on their own responsibility and is not obligatory.
