Marathon church service

"Things are going well with God!"

"It runs well with God!" is the motto of this year's marathon service on the day before the big race.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., a special service will be held at the Ursuline Church.

On the eve of the Linz Marathon, all runners, fans, friends of the Linz Marathon, organizers* and interested parties are invited to bring their thoughts before God in prayers and songs and to be blessed.

Similar to the runners, many people in the Bible are also on the way, walking or running long distances to reach a certain goal.

This celebration - with a final blessing of the runners - is prepared by the Catholic Youth of Upper Austria (kj oö). Michael Münzner, who has been a marathon runner himself for years, will lead the celebration. The preparation team has asked itself these questions: what strengthens you on the way and what helps you to overcome hard times.

The band of the kj oö will provide the musical accompaniment. With this service, the kj oö would like to express the fact that when you run, you reach your own limits, get to know them, accept them and learn to deal with them, often with the help of the "angels" along the way.
