At the marathon anniversary there are again many movement initiatives
On October 23rd, the 20th anniversary of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon will be celebrated in a big way in Linz. And many schoolchildren and firefighters will also have another eventful day.
The "Fire Brigade Runs" campaign has been an important part of the running spectacle for many years. In order to support the groups from Upper Austria even better and thus also offer more equal opportunities, this year not only the fastest fire department will be awarded, but there are also lucrative prizes for the fire department with the most participants (as a percentage of members) and the district with the most participants in Upper Austria. For the 20th anniversary, the relay marathon was also included in the "Fire Brigade Runs" campaign for the first time.
The group event "Schule läuft" (School Runs) is just as popular every year. Upper Austria's students and teachers from elementary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational schools - or apprentices in training - and from higher vocational and general education schools are eligible to start. Participation for students is free of charge except for the chip rental fee, and if there are five starters, the teacher also participates for free. In addition, there is a high-quality T-shirt from the company Banner Batterien as well as prizes from the Starmovie cinemas for the fastest, but also for the most participants of a school.
Under the motto "Do something good for yourself", the Linz Danube Marathon 2022 will once again focus on women. Together with the Women's Department of the Province of Upper Austria, Oberbank has set itself the goal of getting as many female runners as possible to the start with the "woman runs" initiative. Among all of them, 50 Eurothermen wellness boxes worth 50 euros each will be raffled off.
