The tag is an integral part of the race number. It ensures that the transponder is attached automatically and securely. Thanks to its ease of use, the tag is ideal for events with a high proportion of recreational runners, such as corporate or school races. There is no need to return the transponder, so participants can take the race number home as a souvenir. The tag is attached to the race number by Linz Marathon staff when the race numbers are handed out.
To ensure the transponder works properly, the race number must not be bent or otherwise damaged and must be worn clearly visible on the chest. The tag used is a disposable transponder; there is no need to return it.
