Registration
Exchange of participants
Participants can be exchanged for a fee; a processing fee of € 10 will be charged. (Except FIX price packages until March 18, 2027)
Change of rating
A downgrade is possible free of charge, the difference will not be refunded. In the event of an upgrade, the difference will be offset against the current contingent price. (Except for FIX price packages until March 18, 2027 within the booked contingent).
After March 18, 2027, there will be a €10 processing fee for all changes (rating changes and participant exchanges).
Participant exchanges and rating changes can be carried out independently via the profile.
Organizational
You can make change requests (typing errors) yourself in your profile. Please send typing errors in your name to linzmarathon@liva.linz.at.
There is a charge for swapping participants and this can also be done via the profile.

Once you have registered, it is no longer possible to cancel your starting place.

There will be no starting documents on Sunday, April 11, 2027!
The starting documents can also be picked up by another person. The person must show the registration confirmation.
A postal delivery in advance is not possible due to the live start number printing in the TipsArena.

Collective accounts with 15 or more registrations have the option of booking a collective collection by Thursday, 18.3.2027.
A fee of €1 (net) will be charged per participant.

Generali 5K
The start for the quarter marathon, relay marathon and marathon is on the Linz highway bridge (VOEST bridge), in the direction of Vienna! The half marathon competitions start on the roadway, in the direction of Urfahr, Freistadt, about 230m ahead on the bridge.
The start for the 5K is on the Untere Donaulände, approximately at the level of Lentos
Please make sure that you arrive at the start in good time to avoid hectic, stress and nervousness. (approx. 15-20 minutes walk from Linz's main square). There is enough space for spectators.

During the race
There are refreshment points along the route and at the finish. There is a refreshment point approximately every 5km. For the marathon distance there are therefore 9 refreshment points along the route. Information about the refreshment points can be found here:
Exclusively for marathon runners: You can't miss the pacemakers! Every finish line runner standing in the respective starting blocks is marked with a corresponding flag and printed finish time. The pacemakers will be presented on the action stage as part of the sports fair on Saturday, April 10, 2027. There will be plenty of finish times available, as the period ranges from three hours to a running time of 4:45 hours, with intervals of 15 minutes.
All competitions are timed using a tag (chip timing in the start number). The tag is attached to the back of your race number and must not be bent.
The use of ChampionChips or other timing chips is not possible.

It is not possible to return to the finish area from the refreshment area! Only participants are allowed in the finish and refreshment area. Please arrange meeting points with your family, friends and acquaintances or other participants outside the restricted areas.
Yes, on the day of the marathon, the fastest 3 women and men in the respective events will be honored on the stage on the main square (relay teams only first place). The exact schedule will be announced on our website in good time.
In the marathon national championships, the fastest 6 women and men, as well as teams, will be honored on the main stage. The Masters and National Championship award ceremony will take place on the day of the event in the Old Town Hall.
For organizational reasons, there will be a separate award ceremony in the Old Town Hall for the "School Runs" and "Fire Brigade Runs" events, as well as for the city championships. The date will be announced to the honorees after the marathon.
General
The items will be kept for approx. 2 weeks.
- in the event of unsportsmanlike or undisciplined behavior
- unauthorized outside help, e.g. pacemaker by bicycle
- if the start number is bent, reduced in size or covered up
- for shortening the course
- failure to cross the control mats on the course
Ethiopian Fikre Bekele achieved the current marathon course record in 2022 in the time of 2:06:13. With this best time, the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon is the second fastest marathon in Austria.
The women's marathon course record was set in 2023 by Kenyan Teclah Chebet with a time of 2:27.18.
In 2015 Andrea Mayr and Anita Baierl caused a sensation by breaking the existing women's half marathon and quarter marathon records.
