At the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon the most athletic fire departments of Upper Austria are chosen. Several times, the fire departments have already proven that they not only make a good figure at the scene, but also when running!
Fit for Firefighting: Who is the most athletic firefighter in the country?
Upper Austria's fire departments have already proven several times that they not only cut a fine figure in action, but also when running! Prizes will be awarded to the 3 fire departments with the most participants and the 3 districts with the most participants in Upper Austria (as a percentage of members). Great prizes await the winning fire departments!

The "Fire brigade runs" campaign is a campaign by the organizers of the Linz Danube Marathon with the aim of achieving the highest possible participation of Upper Austrian "fire department" runners in the following competitions:

  • Oberbank Marathon on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 09:30 am
  • ORLEN Half marathon on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 09:30 am
  • Hyundai Relay marathon on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 09:30 am
  • LINZ AG quarter marathon on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 08:30 am
  • Generali 5K on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 08:45 am Lentos height
  • ÖGK junior marathon on Samstag, 11. April 2026, from 12:00 in the Donaupark Linz

Registration modalities

Interested fire departments from Upper Austria can request registration access at linzmarathon@liva.linz.at and will also receive information on and about the 24.Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon.

The SYBOS number and the fire department number must be entered in the subsequent online registration. The final evaluation and subsequent awarding of prizes can only take place if both numbers are entered!

We have a special offer for fire departments in Upper Austria: We can offer all fire department running participants the first entry deadline as a fixed registration fee.

Application deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026

The Upper Austrian Provincial Fire Brigade Association will also allow its members to use the infrastructure of the Upper Austrian Provincial Fire Brigade Command at the upcoming Linz Marathon.

On April 12, 2026, the following infrastructure can be used from 07:00 to 16:00:

  • Parking in the outdoor area of the LFKDO (parking spaces along the road)
  • Use of the changing rooms and sanitary facilities (WC and shower) for men and women
  • The entrance for the participants is located at the transition between the Breathing Protection Center and the State Fire Brigade School (entrance is signposted)
  • An employee of the LFK will be available to you as a contact person during this period

Use of the LFK infrastructure is only possible after prior registration via the link below.

It is expressly pointed out that this offer is only valid for members of the Upper Austrian fire department.
