Upper Austrian pupils and teachers from elementary school, secondary schools, grammar schools, vocational schools or apprentices (vocational school students) who are still in apprenticeship training and higher vocational and general education schools (up to the Matura) are eligible to participate.
The schools with the fastest participants in the quarter marathon and 5K run, as well as the school with the most participants, will be awarded prizes.
Registration modalities "School runs
The responsible teacher must request the registration link for the collective registration "Schule läuft" via the marathon office at linzmarathon@liva.linz.at.
In order to make participation in the competitions really interesting for ALL (schools, students and supervising or "running" teachers), we offer a compact package:
- Discounted participation of pupils in the LINZ AG quarter marathon and Generali 5K (€ 10.00 per runner)
- Free T-shirt provided by LINZ AG (while stocks last)
- Free refreshments in the finish area
- Free finisher medal at the finish
Certificate and results report can be downloaded online after the event
5 students = 1 teacher discounted
For every 5 participating students, the entry fees (except € 10.00 organization fee) for the quarter marathon or 5K run are waived for one teacher teaching at this school.

Award ceremony "School runs"
The times of the three fastest pupils from a school in the quarter marathon and the 5K are added together and ranked.
The school with the most participants is also awarded a prize. In 2026, the evaluation will take place for the first time as a percentage of the total number of pupils in a school. This means that smaller schools also have a chance of winning the title.
