School runs
Upper Austrian pupils and teachers from elementary school, secondary schools, grammar schools, vocational schools or apprentices (vocational school students) who are still in apprenticeship training and higher vocational and general education schools (up to the Matura) are eligible to participate.
Registration modalities "School runs
The teacher in charge must request the registration link for the “Schule läuft” group registration from the Marathon Office at linzmarathon@liva.linz.at.
To ensure that taking part in the races is genuinely appealing to EVERYONE (schools, pupils and supervising or ‘running’ teachers), we are offering a comprehensive package:
- Discounted entry for pupils in the LINZ AG quarter marathon and Generali 5K (€10.00 per runner)
- Free T-shirt provided by LINZ AG (whilst stocks last)
- Free refreshments at the finish line
- Free finisher’s medal at the finish line
Certificates and results reports will be available to download online after the event
6 pupils = 1 teacher at a reduced rate
For every 6 pupils taking part, one teacher from that school is exempt from the entry fees (excluding the €10.00 administration fee) for the quarter-marathon or 5K run.
Please note! Places for the ‘School Runs’ are limited! Register early to secure your place. The registration deadline for the ‘School Runs’ events is , provided the quota has not been filled before then.
Award ceremony "School runs"
The times of the three fastest pupils from each school in the quarter-marathon and the 5K are added together and ranked.
The school with the highest number of participants is also awarded a prize. The results are calculated as a percentage of the school’s total pupil numbers. This means that even smaller schools have a chance of winning the title.
