Marathon Sunday

Once a year, Linz is transformed into a vibrant center of movement that belongs entirely to the people. When the starting shot is fired on the Voest Bridge and tens of thousands of runners set off, there is a sense of new beginnings in the air. The city becomes a stage for big goals, small steps, quiet moments and exuberant joy - carried by the applause that erupts at every corner. The Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon is more than just a sporting event. It is a celebration of togetherness - open, diverse, connecting. From the marathon to the 5K, from the handbike race to the Special Olympics Run: every competition is special in its own way, every participation unique. Those who compete here never run alone - but always for something bigger: for community, for cohesion, for experiencing limits and possibilities.

Behind it all is a dedicated team that works with enthusiasm, precision and heart for months on end. Together with long-standing partners, they make possible what often seems impossible. We are particularly proud of new formats and strong signals - for sustainability, participation and sporting fairness: the Junior Marathon, the Green Event certification, the Inclusive Run in the Donaupark.
