Refund information

Update.

Dear Linz Marathon participants,

Months of preparation, strict training plans, you have long since adjusted your everyday life to the goal. And suddenly the running event you wanted to participate in is cancelled. For us, too, it was months of preparation and long days. We work with a lot of passion and heart and soul and have been organizing Upper Austria's largest and most popular running event - the Linz Danube Marathon - for almost two decades. For the organizing team, the news that the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon could not take place at the beginning of April was a big shock.

We see it as our task to always work in a customer-friendly and service-oriented manner in order to create an unforgettable running experience for our runners. A few weeks before the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, the Austrian federal government decided that, among other things, no more major events would be allowed to take place due to Covid-19 until further notice. The planning was already very advanced at that time, orders had already been delivered, a large part of our budget had been invested. Therefore, the reversal also took time. Many questions had to and still have to be clarified so that we can also guarantee the existence of the Linz Danube Marathon in subsequent years.

After many discussions we can now inform you that we will be able to refund the entire entry fee to all participants. mika:timing will transfer back the entry fees and costs for booked additional services (medal engraving, chip) as of May 20, 2020. A transfer to the next year would be associated with an immense organizational and financial additional effort and we can therefore not offer.

Should one or the other wish to support the Linz Danube Marathon in such a way that he/she waives his/her entry fee, or part of it, we would like to thank you very much. We had already invested a mid-six-figure amount, your contribution would make the organization much easier for us next year.

All registered participants will receive an email from mika:timing today, April 27, 2020, with a personalized link where you can indicate until May 11, 2020, if and how much you would like to donate. Collective registrations can only be processed as a lump sum. All those who do not respond by this deadline will have all paid benefits automatically refunded as of May 20, 2020.

We look forward to welcoming you to the start line next year on April 11, 2021!
As soon as registration for the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon 2021 is possible, we will inform you. Until then we wish you all the best and stay healthy.

Your
Linz Marathon Team
