Linz Danube Marathon in 1st place in Austria
Record participation in the annual voting on Marathon4you.de - 13,564 runners voted - in Germany, the Rennsteiglauf defends its title - the Jungfrau Marathon lands in 2nd place and is thus the most popular marathon in Switzerland ahead of - Hamburg (3rd place). The most popular city marathon in Austria is the Borealis Linz Danube Marathon in 1st place ahead of Salzburg and Vienna. The votes of 13,564 marathoners, spread over a total of 222 events, have been evaluated and the winners have been determined. In Germany, it is once again the Rennsteiglauf that is at the forefront of the runners' favor. This confirms once again that participant numbers, times and stars alone are no indication of the quality and popularity of an event. At least not if you ask the "running people". The Rennsteiglauf is by no means a small event, but much larger ones are placed behind it. Above all, this also applies to the Jungfrau Marathon, which has been at the top of the M4Y voting for years, is regularly booked out ahead of time and now occupies second place. Of course, this also makes it the No. 1 marathon in Switzerland and among mountain marathons. And, it should be especially mentioned, by far the "smallest" in the top group. The Hamburg Marathon continues to be on the fast track and not only increases in the number of participants year after year, but now also improves in the M4Y ranking to 3rd place and is thus the most popular city marathon. In the national ranking, Hamburg is second behind the Rennsteiglauf, Frankfurt third. In Austria's marathon scene, nothing is more constant than change. Although the top places are usually occupied by the same events, they are always in a different order. This time the Linz Marathon has the lead, Salzburg is second, Vienna third.
