The Linz Danube Marathon office is currently unmanned due to the corona crisis. Our employees are busy maintaining business operations via home office. We ask for your understanding if there are waiting times when answering inquiries. We take the mandate and requirements of the German government very seriously and want to actively contribute to improving the situation and overcoming the crisis.
The organization of the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon planned for 05.04.2020 was clearly already very far advanced. We now have to reverse this planning step by step, communicating with many sponsors, companies, clubs, volunteers and of course, above all, with the runners. Please give us some more time to clarify all detailed questions. We will get back to you with answers to all important questions as soon as we have the final procedure.
Of course we have checked if a postponement into the fall is possible. However, due to the numerous sporting events and various events in Linz, this was unfortunately not possible. The most popular marathon in Austria with the best customer service is therefore to be a special class event again next year, and we can assure you that we are working on it with full commitment, enthusiasm and heart and soul. Part of our concentration in our current work is therefore already directed towards the next Linz Danube Marathon on April 11, 2021.
We ourselves were very sad that the Linz Danube Marathon 2020 had to be cancelled, but we are looking ahead with confidence and are already looking forward to seeing you again. Until then, we must now all stick together and strictly comply with the measures taken by the authorities to contain the spread of the Corona virus. And this is a goal for which it is worth stopping even for us running enthusiasts.
Together, let's support the people who, despite the difficult times, are always there for us and are committed to our well-being. Many thanks to our partners, who are also strongly challenged now, especially the blue-light organizations Red Cross, police and fire department: Thank you for caring so selflessly for the well-being of people!
Running is the simplest sport in the world, and our hearts are 100% attached to what we do, which is to organize a special kind of running festival for you. The start on the freeway bridge, the district festivities, the speed zones, the music miles, the refreshment stations, all this makes up the flair of the Linz Danube Marathon, and you will be able to experience all this again next year in Linz.
We hope that you, your families and friends are well and that normality will soon return to our everyday lives. Health always comes first, take care of yourselves and keep fit as best you can. How often have we heard in the last days: "Together we will make it" There is a lot of truth in this statement and we even want to go one step further and say:
Only together can we do it!
