Registration record! For the first time in the history of the Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon, all running events are already fully booked before the Marathon Sports Fair on April 10/11 in the TipsArena. Late registrations are only possible for the "rolling competitions" Fischer Brot Inline Skating Half Marathon and Ascendor Handbike Half Marathon.
As of 7.4.26, a total of 21,378 entries have been received, which means that the Linz Marathon has reached its spatial limits - the organizers are looking forward to a brilliant race weekend with great anticipation.
Elite field women & men
The 2026 Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon presents an exceptionally strong elite field. Top international athletes with championship experience will meet Austria's current best long-distance runners! The field will be led by former marathon world champion Ghirmay Ghebreslassie (PB 2:05:34), while Julia Mayer (2:26:08) and Mario Bauernfeind (PB 2:12:49) will be in the spotlight from a domestic perspective. The density of performance promises a fast race and top-class sport on the streets of Linz.
Green Event award also achieved in 2026
With a comprehensive package of measures, the Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon will continue to focus on the responsible use of resources and environmental protection in 2026. As a further milestone on this path and as a visible, current sign of environmentally conscious event work, all competitions of this year's 24th Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon can be organized as Green Events in cooperation with the Upper Austrian Climate Alliance. The marathon sponsors and partner companies have played a major role in this success - thank you very much!
Tip: New Family Area on Marathon Sunday
For the first time this year, the Kuddelmuddel children's cultural center invites you to take a relaxing family break on Marathon Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. In the Family Area at the City of Linz's music pavilion, children and their accompanying adults will find a quiet place to take a deep breath, play and be creative. The music pavilion is centrally located between the Brucknerhaus and the start area of the marathon and is just a few minutes' walk from the finish on Hauptplatz.
