Update cancellation 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon

Update.

Dear runners

dear Linz Marathon friends

with the delay of a considerable shock we have to inform you that due to the current situation the Linz Marathon cannot take place as planned from April 3 to 5, 2020. Months of preparation, strict training plans, you have long since adjusted your everyday life to the goal. And suddenly the running event you wanted to participate in is cancelled. We can imagine exactly how you feel now.

For us, too, it was months of preparation and long days. We work with a lot of passion and heart and soul and have been organizing Upper Austria's biggest and most popular running event - the Linz Danube Marathon - for almost two decades. For the organizing team, the news that the 19th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon could not take place at the beginning of April was a big shock.

Nevertheless: we all have to help together now. We ask you to strictly adhere to all measures that have been set by the authorities and may still come. If we all pull together now, we will be able to return to our usual daily routine in some time. And that is a goal worth stopping for, even for us running enthusiasts.

Recommended protective measures and frequently asked questions about the coronavirus can be found on the AGES homepage and the 24-hour hotline: 0800 555 621.

We would like to thank everyone who, in addition to the OC team, puts a lot of time and heart and soul into making the Linz Marathon happen: our volunteers, our partners, sponsors and suppliers. Thanks also to all the participants who have sent us encouraging e-mails over the past few days, as well as for the understanding phone calls.

We will decide in the next few weeks how to proceed, and all participants who have already registered will of course be informed by us immediately.

We thank you for your understanding and support.
