Oberbank brings „Power Team“ to the Linz Marathon.
At the 16th Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, athletes from four different managers will be at the start to fight for victory in Linz. There has never been such a breadth in the top field in Linz. A tough fight for the coveted top places is therefore obvious.
The entry of the "Oberbank Power Team" will be particularly exciting. With the support of the main sponsor, GILBERT KIRWA, Kenya, personal best: 2:06:14 (Frankfurt, 2009) could be won for Linz. Gilbert is by far the fastest runner Linz has ever seen, the average of his 10 fastest marathons is an incredible 2:07:52! Gilbert will bring his own pacemakers to pull him to a top time in Linz! Gilbert Kirwa forms the "Oberbank Power Team" with naturalized Ethiopian Lemawork Ketema. Lemawork is in the ÖLV A squad and is preparing for the World Championships qualification. He wants to undercut the standard of 2:15:00 in the process. "With both athletes, Oberbank is making an important contribution to an attractive elite field that should guarantee Linz top times again," said Oberbank General Manager Franz Gasselsberger, who is committed to the Power Team.
