Andrea Mayr runs Austria record

"Austria's fastest female doctor" the top runner and Upper Austrian Andrea Mayr competed in the half marathon in 2015. She was able to confirm her excellent performance in Linz with a top time of 1:11.34 and 3rd place overall.

Mayr pulverized her own best time (1:12:40) and set a new Austrian record. Andrea Mayr: "I really enjoyed the run, there is nothing better than breaking your own record in your hometown. I am overjoyed and thank everyone who cheered me on. A great atmosphere and a super organization, there it makes really joy to run". First place in the half marathon went to the Hungarian Deli Gergely with 1:10,46 ahead of the Austrian Franz Springer (1:11,30). Second place in the women's race went to Germany's Tina Fischl in 1:16.41. Canada's Catrin Jones finished third in 1:19.12.

Anita Baierl wins the quarter marathon

Anita Baierl, an Upper Austrian, started in the Linza AG quarter marathon competition and has a successful running history. Baierl is among the national leaders over 5,000 and 10,000 meters and holds several state championship titles in cross-country running. In the quarter marathon event, Baierl placed 3rd overall with a time of 35:33, with Austria's Philipp Gintenstorfer running 1st and 2nd in 34:53 and Dominik Exel in 35:22. Quote Baierl: "Sensational conditions and a fantastic crowd with a great backdrop. That was just fun and I am more than satisfied with my performance."
