A top-class panel around the Swiss ex-professional runner and record holder, Olympic silver medalist and European indoor champion will provide valuable tips for all sports enthusiasts on January 23, 2020 at the Oberbank Donau Forum.
Whether together in a relay or solo in a quarter marathon, on the way on the half course or even over the entire distance of 42.195 kilometers - the right preparation is the basis for every successful participation in an exceptional experience like the competitions of the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon. No one knows this better than the top panel of experts at this year's kick-off event, who, at the invitation of the Linz Marathon organizers, will impart valuable experience, advice and tips.
The focus of the top-class live talk will be in-depth knowledge for training and running, sports medicine know-how, the compatibility of work and sport and, of course, tips on the route of the Linz Marathon. This year, the organizers have once again succeeded in bringing a world-class athlete to Linz as a star guest. Markus Ryffel, the Olympic silver medalist over 5,000m in Los Angeles in 1984 and European indoor champion over 3,000m in 1978 and 1979, is still the Swiss record holder over 3,000m and 5,000m!
Currently, the Bernese "marathon man" offers amateur athletes professional support in running camps and with training programs in Europe and Africa in preparation for athletic goals, organizes guided running trips to international marathons and also organizes runs himself in Switzerland with his company. "Through the ups and downs of my career in elite sports, I have long experienced first-hand what matters in training. Today I would like to pass on this knowledge and, as at the Linz Marathon Kick Off Event, get in touch with runners so that they can reach their goals optimally prepared," Markus Ryffel is already looking forward to his visit to Linz.
